{"id":64,"date":"2016-03-03T15:10:34","date_gmt":"2016-03-03T14:10:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/research.multiplum.com\/?p=64"},"modified":"2016-03-03T15:10:34","modified_gmt":"2016-03-03T14:10:34","slug":"golan-levin-chris-sugrue-kyle-mcdonald-augmented-hand-series","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/notes.multiplum.com\/?p=64","title":{"rendered":"Golan Levin, Chris Sugrue &#038; Kyle McDonald Augmented Hand Series"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/126833147\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The Augmented Hand Series is real-time mirror-vision installation (software system) that adds, removes and alters the length of the digits on you hand, in addition to a range of more playful modifications and exaggerations.<br \/>\nIt brings to mind the variations of the rubber-hand illusion experiments, originally performed by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.psychology.mcmaster.ca\/bennett\/psy720\/readings\/m5\/botvinick.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Botvinick &#038; Cohen<\/a> (1998), where one arm is hidden from view (or not there at all as is the case with amputees), and a fake rubber hand is placed in its stead. The body schemata of the hidden\/missing hand is activated by touching the rubber hand. Similar experiments were done by mirroring the hand.
